A  fun weekend of West Coast Swing and Country 2 Step workshops and Saturday evening Dance.

Both days held at the upper Courtenay Legion Hall, 367 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay

This Weekend event includes:

Saturday Nov. 16th: 2 one hour afternoon WCS workshops starting at 2:00 pm and 3:15pm, with dinner break approx. 4:30pm

Evening All levels WCS workshop starting at 7:00 pm, followed by Dance at 8:00 pm- 11:00 pm. (mix of WCS, C2s, Nightclub)

Sunday Nov 17th: 2 one hour morning Country Two Step workshops starting at 10:00 am and 11:15am and ending approx. 12:30pm

All workshops will be at the intermediate level, previous dance experience required.

WCS you shoud be competent with the 5 basic patterns (the left and right-side pass, whips, tuck turns and sugar pushes).

C2S you should be competent with the basic step pattern and beginner moves.

You can register for either day or both.

We are trying to keep a balance of leads and follows and we request you register with your partner. Singles will be balanced as best as possible, unbalanced follows will be held to 10% with a waitlist started if we exceed that. We will notify you if you are on the waitlist.

Confirmed registration must be prepaid, unpaid registrations will be waitlisted until paid.

Nov. 16th full day only (3 workshops and dance) $50.00 each / $100 per couple

Nov. 17th only (2 morning C2S workshops) $30.00 each / $60.00 per couple

Full Event (16th & 17th) $80.00 each / $160.00 per couple.

Evening (All levels)WS and Dance only $20, Paid at the door, no registration required.

Bio- Dave Tolksdorff & Claudia Houwers

Recently relocated to Nanaimo BC and loving it, Dave and Claudia, have taught various styles of dance and continue to host regular country dance events in Vancouver. Known for their good-humored and fun teaching style they enjoy sharing the love of dancing with their students. Dave began dancing in 1986 and competed in the ballroom circuit, placing 1st as BC champion in 1995-96. Since then, he has expanded his dance repertoire to include dances such as salsa, westcoast swing and country. Claudia began dancing in 2006 as part of the Salsa Caliente performance team, performing in Puerto Rico and various US locations. Since then, she has gone on to compete in ballroom, westcoast swing and country. Together Dave and Claudia have competed in the Country Dance circuit, where they placed 1st at Worlds in 2018. Most recently, they have combined their dance knowledge of various dance styles choreographing and performing routines which combine ballroom, country and swing to showcase the diversity of dance. They are looking forward to many more years of dancing!
